One of the many greatest and oldest forms of martial arts that are still used today is known as Tai Chi. Tai Chi is used to create inner peace in a being. “It is called Tai Chi "the grand ultimate". It represents a balance between forceful and yielding energy.”[ http://www.mcs.ca/vitalspark/2040_therapies/520taic.html ]. This quote states that Tai Chi is an ultimate which I believe means to find the ultimate person inside you, and when it said represents a balance I believe it means that Tai Chi will create that needed balance of opposites. It’s the story of yin and yang how two complete opposites come together to make harmony.

Every year there on the last Saturday of April there is a World Tai Chi Day which is an event that the whole world takes place in. The United Nations believe that WTCQD is a good way for the world to come together and wants to promote and educate the world of the benefits of Tai Chi. WTCQD is a day in which basically the whole world does Tai Chi. It starts in New Zealand and ends Hawaii. At 10:00 local time in every place people come together to “breathe as one” and practice Tai Chi to create a healing wave of calmness around the world. What Tai Chi has to with ensuring peace? It is believed that Tai Chi creates peace within someone (inner peace). That inner peace calms the person and will make that person more likely to treat other peacefully hence ensuring peacekeeping.
